後水尾天皇の行幸のために増改築されたのが、新御殿です。新御殿の一の間には、付書院が設けられました。
The tsuke-shoin has a large comb-shaped window with a novel design. To the right is the famous Katsura-dana, made of rare trees from South Asia as well as Japan.
